Bhering Advogados Supports Civil Police Operation Against Counterfeit Children’s Footwear in Birigui, São Paulo
On June 18, 2026, Bhering Advogados’ Anti-Counterfeiting and Anti-Piracy Department accompanied a Civil Police operation in Birigui, São Paulo, aimed at investigating potential intellectual property rights violations in the region’s footwear sector.
The search and seizure action took place at a factory and two retail stores. Twelve civil police officers took part in the operation, including the chief of Birigui’s 2nd Police District, along with teams from other local units and court bailiffs.
The Seizure
During the raid, authorities seized 1,827 pairs of children’s footwear featuring the unauthorized use of clients’ trademarks and characters. The seized materials will undergo forensic examination, and investigations remain ongoing to determine the scope of the illegal activity, identify those responsible, and assess potential criminal liability.
