Bhering Advogados Strengthens Ties with Korean-Brazilian Community

On July 28, 2026, Chairin Kong, head of the firm’s Korean Desk, attended a special gathering at the Grand Hyatt, in São Paulo, bringing together officials from the Korean government, members of the Korean community in Brazil, representatives of community associations, subsidiaries of Korean companies, and future leaders of the community.

The event, attended by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung during his visit to Brazil, focused on strengthening the Korean community in the country and enhancing bilateral relations between Brazil and South Korea, particularly in areas such as technology, innovation, and intellectual property.

“As Korean companies expand their operations in the country, the need to protect their intellectual assets, including patents and trademarks, is also increasing”, said Kong.

In addition to expanding bilateral trade, the South Korean delegation’s visit is expected to encourage investments in sectors such as semiconductors, electric mobility, batteries, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, infrastructure, and energy transition – areas in which intellectual property protection is often decisive for the implementation of new projects.

Bhering Advogados remains actively engaged with the Korean business community in Brazil, providing specialized legal support as trade and investment ties between the two countries continue to strengthen.
