Bhering Advogados attends raid operation of fake perfumes and cosmetics in Bahia

Bhering Advogados’ Anti-Counterfeiting Department recently took part in “Marca Segura”, a raid operation conducted by Salvador’s Consumer Protection Police Department (DECON).

Named Operation Marca Segura, the operation also had the support of the Military Police, SEFAZ, PROCON, and CODECON. Approximately 15 agents took part in the operation.

The operation targeted a company operating three retail units — two in Salvador and one in Lauro de Freitas — and resulted in the seizure of more than 8,500 counterfeit products, including perfumes and cosmetics sold without authorization from the relevant rights holders.

Counterfeit perfumes and cosmetics pose serious health and safety risks, as they are manufactured without regulatory standards, safety requirements, or quality control. Enforcement actions of this kind are therefore essential to disrupt the distribution of infringing products, protect brands, and safeguard consumers.
