On April 1, 2020, the PPH Pilot program between the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO) and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) came into force. Subject to a limit of 400 patent applications in all fields, per year, this program allows Brazilian patent applicants to use the examination results of their patent applications in order to expedite the analysis in Korea and, in the same way, Korean patent applicants will be able to use the examination results of their patent applications in order to expedite the analysis in Brazil.

The PPH program between the BPTO and the KIPO will remain in effect until March 31, 2022.
