Associates Luiza Portelli and Isabella Tubini participated in the 1st FGV Art Market Economics Seminar, held on September 21st, where they presented an article titled “From the Streets to Shop Windows: A brief overview of the history of urban art and its debut in the Brazilian market”. The event brought together researchers, teachers, students, and professionals from the art market.
The objective of the event was to publicize and discuss scientific and applied research related to the economics of the art market. The agenda included the presentations of articles on the topic of Art Market Economics and a roundtable discussion on “Obstacles to the growth of the Brazilian art market”.
Art Economics falls within the field of Cultural Economics and has, since the 1980s, studied economic data related to the creation, distribution, and consumption of various creative products, including works of art, literature, music, and more.
